Clinical Neuropsychologist
Education: Dr. Brittany Cerbone earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from New York University and her doctorate in clinical psychology, with a specialization in clinical neuropsychology, from the University of Houston. She completed her APA-accredited internship at the Phoenix VA Health Care System and her postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Barrow Neurological Institute. She has been board certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
Employment: Dr. Cerbone joined Neurocognitive Specialty Group in 2019. She is licensed in Texas and holds PSYPACT Temporary Authorization to Practice, allowing her to conduct assessments in most of the United States. She provides IME services throughout Texas, with a particular focus on San Antonio, Austin, and the broader South Texas region, and has travelled internationally to conduct forensic assessments.
Forensic Specialty Areas: At NSG, Dr. Cerbone focuses on forensic neuropsychological assessment and independent medical examinations (IMEs) involving traumatic brain injury, cognitive impairment, and neuropsychiatric conditions. She has significant experience with Defense Base Act (DBA) and personal injury matters, and conducts record and peer reviews relating to traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder claims. She is an approved neuropsychologist within the NFL Concussion Settlement Program.
Academic Appointment: Outside of her work with NSG, Dr. Cerbone serves on the clinical faculty at UT Health San Antonio, where she conducts clinical neuropsychological evaluations of adults with a range of neurological, medical, and psychiatric conditions.
Research: Her research interests include aging and dementia, multicultural considerations in neuropsychological assessment, and performance validity testing.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Cerbone enjoys traveling, volunteering with an animal rescue organization, and exploring new restaurants.
