Our Fort Lauderdale Clinic
Neurocognitive Specialty Group’s Miami clinic is located in Fort Lauderdale, on the Broward and Miami-Dade line, serving patients and referring providers throughout South Florida.
The clinic is directed by Dr. Maria Cecilia Boix Braga, a trilingual clinical neuropsychologist who evaluates patients in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. South Florida trained, she earned her bachelor’s degree at Florida International University and her doctorate at Nova Southeastern University, completed her APA-accredited internship at Jackson Health System in association with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and finished a two-year fellowship in rehabilitation and neuropsychology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She is licensed in both Florida and Texas.
Our office is a wheelchair-accessible suite in a freestanding office building at 6700 N Andrews Ave, with patient parking — including handicap-accessible spaces — on both sides of the building. We see patients Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and most new evaluations begin in the morning so testing finishes comfortably within the day.
Our Staff
Dr. Boix Braga is supported on site by Katie, our Site Coordinator. Katie coordinates scheduling, records, and day-of logistics for Fort Lauderdale patients, and also assists with test administration under Dr. Boix Braga’s supervision.
Neuropsychological & Psychological Evaluations
Dr. Boix Braga provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessment in English, Spanish, or Portuguese — evaluaciones neuropsicológicas en español, avaliações neuropsicológicas em português — measuring memory, attention, executive functioning, processing speed, and language. We accept referrals from neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, and primary care physicians for:
- Memory loss, dementia, and progressive neurocognitive conditions
- Traumatic and acquired brain injuries
- Epilepsy — including evaluation before and after temporal lobe surgery, and distinguishing psychogenic non-epileptic events from epileptic seizures
- Candidacy evaluation for deep brain stimulation and cognitive evaluation surrounding other brain surgery
- Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders
- Decision-making capacity in the setting of neurological and psychiatric illness
- ADHD in adults
Every evaluation includes a records review, a clinical interview, standardized testing, and a detailed written report with diagnostic impressions and practical recommendations — delivered to you and your referring provider. Most testing appointments take between three and five hours, and results are available within a week.
Medicolegal and Immigration Evaluations
The Miami and Fort Lauderdale clinic serves attorneys, insurers, third-party administrators, and government agencies statewide. Forensic services include independent medical examinations for personal injury, workers’ compensation, and disability claims, consultation and review of neuropsychological and medical records for case evaluation, and expert witness testimony at deposition and trial. Dr. Boix Braga also advises counsel on test selection, record review, and rebuttal analysis of opposing expert reports, and completes immigration evaluations for asylum, extreme hardship, and VAWA petitions — in the petitioner’s own language where she is fluent. All work is billed hourly. NSG accepts no letters of protection and no contingency-based fee arrangements, so the fee never depends on the outcome of the case.
Telehealth Across 40+ States
Through PSYPACT, Dr. Boix Braga offers telehealth appointments to patients in more than 40 states — including pre-screening consultations, clinical interviews, follow-ups, feedback sessions, and select assessments via secure, HIPAA-compliant video, in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.

Our Fort Lauderdale clinic serves Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties, including Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park, Wilton Manors, Pompano Beach, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Tamarac, Lauderhill, Plantation, Sunrise, Davie, Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, and Aventura, along with Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, and Miami. We regularly see patients referred from Broward Health, Holy Cross Health, Memorial Healthcare System, Cleveland Clinic Florida, and physicians throughout South Florida. The office sits just off I-95 at Cypress Creek, about 30 minutes from downtown Miami and 40 from West Palm Beach.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Plan to arrive a few minutes early with your photo ID, insurance card, a list of current medications, and any prior imaging, neurology, or psychological records you have. Wear your glasses or hearing aids if you use them, take your medications as usual unless your physician has said otherwise, and eat breakfast — testing can be mentally demanding and we want your best effort. You’re welcome to bring a family member; we often ask a spouse or adult child a few questions, and they can wait comfortably in our lobby during testing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer evaluations in Spanish or Portuguese?
Yes — Dr. Boix Braga is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese and conducts complete evaluations, including the interview, testing, and feedback, in all three. No interpreter needed.
